PAINTING/PRINTMAKING Art 116a, Color PracticeStudents are introduced to the theory and practice of color through observation, experimentation, readings, screenings, discussion, and creative projects. We attempt to arrive at an understanding of color as an evolving scientific, philosophical, and cultural phenomenon. Students are encouraged to consider the role of color in historical and contemporary art practices and in relation to their own artistic development. Required of painting concentration art majors. Materials fee: $75.
