The deal…
Ok, so below there are screen shots of the publication along with some brief explanations. An overview of how this will work:
We will supply everyone with an inDesign file that provides everything needed to design your section of the book (ie. the designer’s statement).
You all will provide us with:
- the printed paper from which you read on the night of the presentations. If you wish to make revisions, corrections, addendums, etc., please do so onto this very paper (be creative).
- your full annotated bibliography, comprising both the set from the summer letter and the one that will go into your thesis book.
- When designing your designer’s statement (ha!), you must use the same typeface as was used for your presentation, though you may use it in whatever way you wish as long as it adheres to the baseline grid (ie. you don’t need to maintain the same layout). Also, you may use as many pages as you wish, within reason.
(If anyone has questions, feel free to bother anyone on the Publication Committee.)

Captions:
The basic template with which you will create your Designer’s Statement. (Headers and Footers will reflect each person’s name, title of text, and date submitted)
The presentations will look roughly like this.
The recto is the title page template.
This is the live area within which you may work for your Designer’s Statement.
This is the master grid. The baseline grid is set at 3pt divisions and all text must be attached to the baseline. The columnar grid is divided by 23 (12 columns, 11 gutters) and is modular so that…
… you can have, for instance, a 4 column grid and a 3 column grid that share the same base unit measurement. Feel free to use however you wish, as long as all elements attach to the grid.
- When placing images of your work, it must adhere to the vertical and horizontal grid, though full bleed is also allowed (but be warned that the headers and footers will still reside on top of the imagery)
- This is the bibliography section. The left pages will be the aggregate bibliography from the summer letters while the right pages will be the aggregate bibliography for the thesis books. This way it will be possible to track the accumulation of references.
