SCULPTURE Art 663b, Performance as Object
This course offers those participants interested in performance the opportunity to create and get feedback on performance works. Open-ended assignments are really prompts to engage the liberty or constraints of time, site, repetition, etc. Performances are prepared outside of class and performed during class time. Some historical works are viewed and discussed, but the majority of class time is spent on the presentation and critiques of the works created by the participants. Critiques focus on the ideas generated in the work and how those ideas are expressed in the performances. A medium that includes the physical presence of a living body opens up creative options that are not available through most other mediums. Enrollment limited. [Not offered 2018-19]Editor details
